Install 2.0 License
Install DISCUS Basic 2.0 Node Locked License
Node Locked/Single Computer licenses are installed on the PC DISCUS will be running on through the DISCUS Basic 2.0 License Configuration window.
- Obtain Your 2.0 License - If you have a Subscription license or current Support and Maintenance, please submit a help request to obtain your new 2.0 license key.
- Launch DISCUS 2.0 - Launch DISCUS
- On a new install (no previous version), DISCUS will go into Trial Mode. On the Trial Mode screen click the License Configuration button
- On a new install that replaced a previous version, DISCUS will pop-up a message that you have a 1.x license. Click OK and then go to the menu item Tools / License Information / License Configuration
- Configure for Node-Locked License - On the License Configuration dialog, choose Download Node Locked License
- Obtain Node-Locked License - Choose the Auto tab and enter the license key that you were provided and choose Get License.
- Install and Review License - DISCUS will attempt to access the internet** and download the license. If successful, you will see a dialog with green lettering. Install the license as noted and restart. Once restarted, then go to Tools / License Information to verify your license.
- If Above Method Fails
- Choose the Manual Option to download the license
- Enter the license key given to you.
- A browser page** will pop-up, copy the license information as noted
- Paste this license information into the Install License box inside of DISCUS and install
- After installation, close and then restart DISCUS
- Once restarted, then go to Tools / License Information to verify your licens
** If you access the internet using a Proxy Server, you might need to configure DISCUS to allow for Proxy Server usage. Please submit a help request to DISCUS Support for more information on configuring DISCUS for a Proxy Server.
Install DISCUS Basic 2.0 Floating License
Floating/Share-able licenses are distributed to DISCUS Basic users from a DISCUS Floating License Server. Transitioning the floating licenses to version 2.0 requires a simple upgrade of the DISCUS Floating License server by the person or organization that supports your Floating License Server, typically your IT organization. Ask an IT rep to submit a help request asking for the the upgrade information.
