Announcing DISCUS Basic 3.0

Key New Features in DISCUS Basic 3.0
- Add Annotations to Ballooned Drawings/Prints
- This new feature lets you add text annotations and notes that display on your ballooned drawing panel and on your exported ballooned drawing pdf.
- Add, Modify or Remove Requirement Terms
- Want to customize the characteristic requirement terms in the drop-down list, removing ones you don't use, adding ones you'd like to use? Upon purchase of version 3.0 or later, you will be able to request our new DISCUS Characteristic Common Core library editor tool to add, modify or remove requirement terms.
- New Balloon Size Option
- With 3.0, balloon sizes can be specified by selecting a font size for the balloon number and the balloon shape will automatically adjust. This feature lets the user control balloon sizing by the overall size of the balloon or by the set size of the balloon number font.
- Numeric Term Data Types
- Now, all numeric terms can be set as data type single value, tolerance or range. None are limited to just single value.
- New MS Excel Export Template Tokens
- 3.0 adds new MS excel export template tokens for use within your custom excel inspection sheets. Tokens have been added for TDP type, characteristic requirement lower spec limit and upper spec limit.
- NI Integration Enhancements
- For our customers who are using our partner Net-Inspect QMS system, exporting the DISCUS Bill of Characteristics to Net-Inspect is better than ever. DISCUS now has additional checking of the characteristic data built into the DISCUS Net-Inspect validator. Unusual characteristics with any Net-Inspect incompatibilities will be flagged so the user can see and fix those characteristics before uploading to Net-Inspect. DISCUS can also display the incompatibility reason, assisting the user in quickly resolving the issue.
- New Results Add-on
- With 3.0 we are introducing a new, separately priced component - Results Add-on. If you would like to enter your inspection results into DISCUS, and then export the requirements and results into a completed inspection sheet, the Results Add-on is for you. Plus, the Results Add-on will check your results against the requirements, showing you passing, warning and failing (from a typo) results. More information.
