Columbus, Ohio – September 6, 2012 – DISCUS is working with the Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) and the Quality Information Framework (QIF) standard and DISCUS has joined the 3D PDF Consortium as a founding member.

The DMSC QIF emerging standard is an integrated suite of XML-based information standards to facilitate accurate and cost-effective data flow throughout the entire manufacturing quality measurement process.  QIF will reduce labor costs and quality losses from unnecessary measurement information translation between various software applications, tools and measuring devices used in the quality process.  QIF enables seamless exchange of measurement plans and result information.

DISCUS is pleased to be participating in the QIF Interoperability demo during the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2012.  We will be in the DMSC QIF booth E-4779.

DISCUS has joined 3D PDF Consortium to promote the acceptance and usage of 3DPDF technology for communicating manufacturing and quality info.  DISCUS sees 3DPDF as a strategic technology for organizations moving to become Model Based Enterprises, MBE.  The 3D PDF Consortium is working to standardize the technology and promote its usage throughout the world.  3DPDF is the way of the future for 3D data exchange up and down manufacturing supply chains and within MBE organizations.
