DISCUS Software is proud to announce their latest software update, DISCUS 2026.

DISCUS 2026 is a major upgrade to the software that helps make great strides in the speed and accuracy of DISCUS. In DISCUS 2026, we’re continuing to enhance Intelligent Drawing Analysis (IDA®), expand DISCUS 3D Support, new UI/UX improvements, and increased system stability. The 2026 release introduces significant improvements to the user interface and multiple performance and reliability upgrades across the platform.

DISCUS 2026 is the result of internal and external feedback from more than 2,500 customers. We strive to enhance the DISCUS experience across all of our DISCUS modules.

DISCUS 2026 has improvements that include:

Desktop

  • New UI/UX updated – We’ve updated the backend of DISCUS to be more stable and reliable resulting in a handful of updates to our UI/UX
  • New Teardrop balloon shape has been added to the list of 2D Balloon options
  • New Package FAIR – Multi-page PDF Export now prints the Excel template chosen as close to the source as possible
  • Export to Net-Inspect received a few updates
    • Bonus Tolerance can now be exported
    • Users now only provide login credentials once per DISCUS session
    • Existing FAIR numbers can be manually entered to have DISCUS upload data to them.
    • Reason for Full/Partial validation updated to limit to 50 characters
  • Package FAIR now aborts the process when error(s) are encountered

IDA®

  • Auto-ballooning now takes ballooning mode into account
  • IDA® Processing Dialog now shows proper status of each sheet
  • Auto-ballooning progress bar no longer briefly fills and resets when first Auto-ballooning over an area
  • Cancelling a drawing that IDA® is processing is a much smoother process now
  • Rotating a drawing while IDA® is processing no longer produces improperly placed candidates

3D

  • Added support for the following model types:
    • NX 2506
    • Parasolid 38
    • ODA 26.8
    • Assimp 6.0.2
  • 3D  Library upgrade for security and stability
  • Added ability to Undo view updating
  • 2D & 3D Balloon settings have been separated
    • 3D Balloon Settings are in the 3D Tools Panel, on the right-hand side of the Model Panel
  • Added a progress indicator to the 3D export to 2D PDF
  • Added support for moving sub-balloon leader lines

CMM

  •  Added Verisurf default template
    • if users have their own Verisurf template defined, it will now have “User Defined” appended to the name

License Server

  • Improved License signing and verification
  • Improved Backend and Library upgrades for security purposes
