DISCUS Software is proud to announce their latest software update, DISCUS 2026 Update 2.

DISCUS 2026 U2 is an update to the software that delivers meaningful enhancements to DISCUS Desktop, Results, Planner and DISCUS 3D functionality, aimed at improving performance, usability and reliability.

In DISCUS 2026 U2, Desktop users will have the ability to search within settings instead of navigating through an increasingly large menu.

A standout feature in this release is the DISCUS Desktop Parent/Duplicate Balloon functionality. Users can now speed up their ballooning workflow with new copy-and-paste shortcuts, multi-selection support, and improved visual identification of duplicate balloons.

DISCUS 2026 U2 is the result of internal and external feedback from around 2500 customers. We strive to enhance the DISCUS experience across all of our DISCUS modules.

DISCUS 2026 U2 has improvements that include:

Desktop

  • Added Parent/Duplicate Balloon Updates
  • Added Search to Settings for quick navigation through the ever-expanding Settings menu
  • Added Stamp Functionality to Text Markup
  • Added Arrowhead Leader Lines
  • Leader Lines are easier to select
  • Added drag-and-drop functionality to Custom Requirement and Custom Field Predefined Lists
  • Version History added to TDP metadata upon Save
  • Custom Requirement and Custom Field Predefined Lists can have their values disabled to preserve values instead of outright deleting them
  • Requirement Images are excluded from Excel Export by default now
  • Zone Grid Lines moving properly refreshes Location in BoC
  • Autosaving was recently broken and now works again

Results

  • Added Filters can now look at Result values and use comparison operators like < and >
  • Result Status Reason is now a column that can be set to visible to better understand a given Characteristic’s Result Status
  • Improved Sub-balloons with Failing Result values properly report as Failed

Planner

  • New Added the ability to import and export Routing Tables
  • Improved Process Plan Properties synchronizes corresponding fields across the TDP

3D

  • New QIF Support
  • New Model format support added for:
    – SolidWorks 2026
    – NX 2512
    – CATIA V5-6R2026
    – Parasolid 38.1
    – Solid Edge 2026
    – JT 10.10, 10.11
    – CREO 13.14
  • Fixed issue closing and reopening TDPs that caused balloons to fail to be drawn on the model
