DISCUS Software is proud to announce their latest software update, DISCUS 2025 Update 1.
DISCUS 2025 U1 is an update to the software that delivers meaningful enhancements to both DISCUS 3D functionality and DISCUS IDA®, aimed at improving performance, usability and reliability.
In DISCUS 2025 U1, 3D users will see improved rendering performance, improved model interpretation and new options for viewing and interacting with model elements.
A standout feature in this release is the DISCUS IDA® Sheet Pipeline, which allows users to resume processing where they left off. This feature lays the foundation for future updates that will make multi-sheet processing even more seamless.
DISCUS 2025 U1 is the result of internal and external feedback from around 2500 customers. We strive to enhance the DISCUS experience across all of our DISCUS modules.
DISCUS 2025 U1 has improvements that include:
3D
- Added new 3D Leader Line repositioning
- Improved 3D Rendering Process
– Various models had notably worse performance compared to others. After this fix, we’re seeing better 3D rendering all-around - Continued improvements to Model PMI interpreting and rendering
- Improved display options to allow user choice of painting back side surfaces of PMI
- Measurement Tool Characteristic creation dialog has been revamped to make it clearer and more useful
IDA®
- New IDA® Sheet Pipeline
- Improved IDA® and Rotation
– Manually ballooning rotated text should be more accurate, regardless of the orientation of the drawing in the Drawing Panel
Desktop
- New Users can now have empty parts list for partial FAIRs and assemblies
- Improved Default Directories can now be pointed to UNC Paths
- Removed requirement of Supplier on Parts List entries and imports
License Server
- Improved Incoming requests better handle seat occupation to help with errant seat occupation upon software crash
- Improved license requesting failover scenarios
